Blog Hop Wednesday

It's Blog Hop Wednesday.
This week I found this great tutorial on how to make a Scrappy Fabric Bunting from
Craftaholics Anonymous.
I thought this was so cute and can't wait to do it on my mantel.
Think outside the box. This is a great project for any occasion.

Scrappy Fabric Bunting

patriotic fabric bunting

So festive and fun! I added this cute bunting to my 4th of July Mantel and it looks great! Its the final touch it needed.

Need an idea for a craft to do with kids now that they’re on Summer Break? This bunting is very kid friendly! Your kids can help tie on the fabric and will have a blast deciding the order of the fabric.

June Craft Kit

fabric bunting craft kit

This is what comes in the Stars and Stripes fabric bunting kit: 7 fabrics coordinating patriotic fabrics and 90″ of cotton rope. To complete the kit, all you need is scissors/rotary cutter and matches or fray check.

And as always, I’ll show you how to make the kit whether or not you decide to buy one!

How to Make a Scrappy Fabric Bunting

how to make a fabric bunting

  1. Supplies: Stars and Stripes Craft Kit or 42″ of coordinating fabric, 90″ cotton rope, fray check/match, and rotary cutter/scissors.
  2. Cut the selvage off each piece of fabric.
  3. Cut your fabric into 1″ strips the long way. {so that your fabric measures 1″ x 43″ approx}
  4. Then cut your 1″ strips into 10″ lengths so that they measure 1″ x 10″. {You’ll have a couple inches excess}
  5. Determine what order you’d like your fabric strips in. This is the order I did mine.how to make a scrap fabric banner
  6. Using a match or fray check, finish both ends of the rope. I used a match to singe the ends of mine. {sorry for the order of the images being flip flopped in the image above!} ***Note: if children are helping with this craft, do not let them do this step.
  7. For each piece of fabric, fold in half and then place under the rope and pull the 2 ends through the loop as shown.
  8. Pull tight.
  9. You’ll want your first piece of fabric about 6″ away from the end of the rope. BUT you will have extra strips, so you could go all the way to the end if you’d like. I like to leave a little at the end without fabric because it makes it easier to tie or hang up.
  10. Push the strips together as you go. There are extra fabric strips in the kit so you can bunch them up tight or spread them out and you’ll have enough for your bunting.

There are so many ways to use these cute fabric buntings! You can put them on mantels, doorways, stairways, banisters, shelves, windows, doors, or even just on the wall with a grouping of frames! Very easy to decorate with and they are not breakable. Which is always a plus when you have kids :)

Blog Hopping Wednesday

I love blogs. I must subscribe to 100's of them. I love looking at all the creative parties, food, and crafts that people come up with. It amazes me. So on Wednesdays I will be sharing with you some of my favorite ones. I found this Bow Toe Wrap from Martha Stewart.
Now who would have thought of this??

Bow Tie Wrap
Instead of gift-boxing a tie for Dad this year, why not tie a gift box? Bow ties fit around many small gifts, and both the traditional and pretied kinds will work. If Dad wears bow ties, a new "bow" can be an added present. If he prefers neckties, an inexpensive vintage bow tie can be used just for fun. Tie the bow around a gift box or two. For a fancier look, dress a wrapped box with ribbon before adding the tie. For a bottle of wine, wrap the length of a pretied bow around the middle a couple of times. This will tighten any slack, letting the tie's smallest setting catch.

Paper Flowers

love making paper flowers!!

It's one of my favorite things to make.I have been lucky that I have been getting orders for them for weddings and gifts.

I was excited to see the other day there was an article in the newspaper saying how brides are now wanting to save money, and paper flowers are the new trend. It cuts your flower cost in half.

Being able to use paper flowers allows people to keep something from your party or event that will last forever.

Brides are not only using them for their bouquets but also having their bridesmaid use them. This allows the bridesmaids to take home a beautiful gift from the wedding. What a beautiful Keepsake!!

Skies the limited using paper flowers. They can be made in any color and any size! When you order them make sure you allow enough time.

It's very time consuming.

But I promise in the end it will all be worth it!

They come out gorgeous!!

I do sell them. This week I will be adding them to my stores on my websites

and also in my Etsy store Make sure you check out all the different

ones I have created.

They are so much fun!! and so pretty.

The ones you see in the picture were of course all handmade.

They were sprayed with glitter glue to give it some bling, then I added pearls to them to give it the WOW factor.

I would love to hear from you and see what you think!

Baby Shower

Good Morning!!

How are you all doing today??

I wanted to share with you a baby shower I did.

The centerpieces were done just a little different then I have ever did before. It was a lot more work then I thought. But it all came out really cute in the end. The colors of choice were brown and Tiffany blue. I used my balloon stuffing machine and stuffed all the balloons with a little stuffed bear. (I knew my machine would come in handy one day!) Then attached the balloon's to the top allowing them to float up. Everyone got to take home a special centerpiece.

The candy table was a big hit! I thought it looked perfect. Everyone loved the candy table as a matter of fact there was no candy left for my host to back up and take home.

The party was a success.

Bridal Shows

I love doing the Bridal Events.

I work with Incredible Events. One of the Bridal event companies here in South Florida. Andrea is a doll to work with! Her shows are amazing. Its help me really build my business and get my name out there. Working and networking with so many other vendors has allowed me to take my business to the next level. I must admit it's a lot of work to do a show. Showing off your work is not always easy. You need to make sure you really show them what you can do. Get their attention. Doing the shows has allowed me to meet all types of people.

This Sunday June 10th I will be at the Weston Country Club. I hope my local friends will come and visit me! There is a special offer if you come by my booth!

Make sure you visit my friend Andrea's facebook page. She has some great promotions and you can keep updated on her upcoming bridal shows.

Summer Time!!

It's finally here!!!

School is over and my summer vacation now begins. 9 weeks!

I am so excited to be off. It gives me a chance to catch up and to get organized. My list is a mile long. Between the house, the kids and my business. I sure have enough to keep me busy.

Every Monday I have decided that its my day. It's where I cater to me. I never did that before. Never take the time to think of what I need. So to start every week off right I am getting my nails and toes done to kick it off!

I did make a few lists of what I need to do this summer. I have no idea if I will get through it all but at least I have a goal.

One of my goals is to make sure I catch up on my blogging. I have so much to share with you. So much to blog about.

Here's to a great summer!! Stay cool! Wear your sunscreen!

Have fun!!
